If you’re missing out on the classic sausage balls, worry no more because this recipe is a great keto alternative! Using 5 main ingredients, this recipe is easy to make and customizable.
Sausage balls with almond flour are a gluten-free, low carb and keto-friendly recipe to enjoy any time of the day.
Since they are made with few main ingredients it is important to use high-quality ones to get great results.
Sausage meat – any raw sausage meat can be used in this recipe but we recommend Italian pork sausages; breakfast sausages work great in this recipe too, so feel free to use your favorite!
Almond flour – a crucial ingredient, as it aids the binding of the sausage balls; for best results, we recommend using fine almond flour. In lack of fine almond flour, the almond meal can be used but it is recommended to add 1-2 tbsp of pork rind panko crumbs to help absorb some of the moisture.
Cheese – we prefer a shredded mozzarella and parmesan cheese combo but cedar cheese works very well as well.
Egg & baking powder – the egg is the key ingredient that helps the mixture bind together while the baking powder ensures the meatballs are fluffy and not chewy.
Seasoning – you can use any in here, We went for a classic Italian seasoning.
