Tofu finds more and more places in the diet of many people, because of its intake of vegetable proteins and “good fats”. But clearly, eating nature tofu is not very interesting. We must take the time to properly prepare it to really appreciate it, and for that marinades are perfect! For this recipe I chose a marinade with Asian flavors that is absolutely delicious and tasty. With basmati rice and green onion, you get a dish full of flavor.
240 g of firm tofu provides as much protein as 90 g of ground beef. With 6.3 g protein per 100 g, its protein intake is significantly higher than that of meat … and of the same quality!
The honey and sesame tofu recipe that I present to you today could be served in many ways. I decided to serve this one with rice, but you could very well serve it on a salad vermicelli, sautéed vegetables, whichever you prefer.

In a bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, salt, pepper, rice vinegar and sesame oil. Mix and reserve.
Cut the tofu into cubes of medium size, and pour the cubes into the soy sauce mixture and marinate for about 15 minutes.
Place the marinated tofu, in a baking dish covered with baking paper (parchment), place the tofu cubes avoiding them touching each other. Cook for about 20 minutes or until tofu is golden brown.
While the tofu is baking, add to the remaining marinade (you should be left a little in the bottom of your bowl with ½ cup of water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil.
Remove the cubes of tofu for the oven and pour into the sauce. Mix the tofu well with the sauce to obtain a good homogeneity. Sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Slice finely a fresh onion and add it to the bowl, with some pepper seeds.
Enjoy!
Cooking Rice
Wash the rice with cold water in a strainer, until the water that flows is clear.
In a saucepan, put the rice and cover with 2 cups of water . Close the pan with a lid and cook over medium heat. Do not stir the rice, let it cook quietly until the water boils. Let the rice cook for another 5 minutes and lower the heat to a minimum. Finally, cook for another 10 minutes. Your rice will be cooked when there is no more water in the pan.
